Chesapeake Energy is the major sponsor of the 2011 Northwest Louisiana District Senior Olympics.

Announcement of the sponsorship was made by Doyle Blasingame, coordinator of the sports carnival which enters its 19th season April 1 and runs through May 21. “We welcome Chesapeake’s support for an activity that is beneficial to the senior population,” Blasingame said. “With their help, we will be able to keep entry fees low and produce quality events.”

“As we invest, work and raise our families in the Haynesville shale region, it is vitally important to Chesapeake to invest in organizations that improve the quality of life in our communities,” said Paul Pratt, Chesapeake’s Director of Corporate Development.  “The Northwest Louisiana Senior Olympics is an outstanding organization that enhances the lives of seniors throughout our area, especially through the promotion of personal health and fitness.  At Chesapeake, we believe in healthy communities and the Senior Olympics group embodies those personal attributes of soundness of mind and body.”

Chesapeake’s logo will adorn the commemorative T-shirt given each competitor.
