In a typical show of sportsmanship, members of the Krewe of Elders team congratulate an opposing player for a home run in a Bean Bag Baseball preliminary game at Knights of Columbus Hall in Bossier City April 26.

The battle lines are drawn for the Bean Bag Baseball showdown in NW La. District Senior Olympics.

In the championship round, relative newcomer  Krewe of Elders awaits the winner of a contest between the 2007 champion Better Than Best and Springhill Medical Center Sluggers #2. The loser of the Better Than Best-Springhill game will receive the bronze medal and the winner and the Krewe will compete for gold and silver.

The Live Oak Retirement Community Astros meet the Azalea Estates Honeybees in the gold medal game of the Assisted Living division of Bean Bag Baseball play.

The Bean Bag winners will be determined on a card that begins at 1 p.m. in the Bossier Civic Center as part of A Senior Health Fair and Opening Ceremony. The health fair starts at 9 a.m. and includes seniors competition in dance team, darts and accuracy throws.
