Krewe of Elders and the Live Oak Astros, champions of divisions in 2010, moved through early rounds of Beanbag Baseball as the 19th Northwest Louisiana District Senior Olympics began to gain momentum.

Krewe of Elders swept to four victories  in the biggest open division ever (16 teams). Live Oaks Astros beat their “little brothers,” the Live Oak Rookies, to reach the finals of the Residential Communities division where they will play Summerfield Estates which bested the Veterans Administration Screaming Eagles in the semis.  Both games were decided by a single run.  Live Oak and Summerfield will decide their division on May 4 in the Bossier Civic Center. The Rookies won the bronze medal in the division.

Airport Park, Springhill Medical Center No. 2, the Chunckers and the Sometimers were victims of the Elders who remain in the winner’s bracket. The last game dropped the Sometimers into the losers bracket which will resume April 30 at the Knight of Columbus Hall.
