Gayle Pearce and Bill Laurenson did the best job of picking one another up and claimed the 50-59 age bracket gold medal in Scotch Doubles Bowling competition of the NW La. District Senior Olympics at Holiday Lanes Wednesday (May 22).

They had a 244 game along the way to a 561 series, better than Skip and Rosemary Crawford who came home with a 543 series. Under Scotch Doubles rules, a team member rolls a first ball in a frame and his or her teammate has to pick up any pins left standing. In case of a strike, the order the team is using continues into the next frame.

Bill Porter and Red Fletcher managed a 539 series for gold in the 60-64 age grouping.
