The track and field competition for the 2014 NW La. District Senior Olympics will move to Benton High School’s track on May 17, according to Track and Field Coordinator Clarence Pinion.
The track and field competition has been held at Airline High School for the past four years after a long stay at Bossier High School’s oval and field. The shift was necessitated by remodeling of the Airline High School track and the possibility it would not be ready in time for the senior event. Pinion pointed out Benton High’s willingness to host the event in the past.
An annual high point of the track and field competition is the awarding of the Jesse Lanier Memorial Award, given the outstanding performer in the event.
