Floyd White repeated as a Gold Medal winner, joining newcomers Vickie Mericle, Delores Gentry and Wayne Mayo in the top spots in 8-Ball Pool competition Monday (April 27) in the NW La. District Senior Olympics.
White survived the 70-75 year old bracket, coming in ahead of Richard Beall and last year’s runner-up, Bob Taylor. Mericle dethroned Betty Smith in the younger women’s age bracket. Ruby Thomas repeated as the Bronze Medal winner in the age group. Gentry defeated Teresa Lambert for gold in the older women’s competition.
Mayo won the gold medallion in competition for younger men with Gary Miller taking silver and Art Hardan bronze.
The tournament, conducted by Lillian Trammel, was staged at Randall T. Moore Senior Center.
